A star was born on March 18, 1927. Growing up penniless, Rita Fern had a remarkable lust for life and those around her. Everything she did was done to make the world a better place. After a near death child birth experience and then fighting illness for nearly her entire adult life, she was unable to pursue her dream to be famous. She didn’t long to be famous for the money and personal success, but for the opportunity to help all those in the world that couldn’t smile every day for whatever reason. Her only child, Lana Sue, went on to build a family of four children. Those grandchildren experienced Rita’s love that was meant to be shared with the entire world. Though she didn’t realize it during her lifetime, her name and dreams would carry on through her grandchildren.
We’ve had the dream of owning a retail business for a long time. But it wasn’t until we realized that we could make an impact on the world around us while doing so that the idea came to life. We started researching vendors with a cause and were amazed at how many people are trying to fulfill Rita’s same passion. That’s when it all came together. Our inventory would support the passion to make the world a better place. We carry inventory supporting the end of human trafficking, world peace, cleaning the oceans and waterways of the world, supplying books for children, and changing the face of beauty. We are constantly looking for stories that speak to us and working to incorporate their products into our inventory. We also carry Ramblin’ Rita apparel that support various charities we designate along the way.
There are countless ways to make a difference in the world. There are countless people trying to make a difference in the world. Rita Fern’s lust for life and dream to make the world a better place gave our mobile boutique a name and a purpose.
